Description

Description

The portable Bluetooth speaker by Anker with a power of 40 watts is full range and can reproduce any music track, though with limited bass performance as it does not have a subwoofer. With a full charge, it offers up to 12 hours of continuous music playback. Additionally, it has USB charging capability, allowing you to easily charge it with a power bank. With an IPX7 protection rating, you can take the speaker with you to the beach or pool as it withstands 30 minutes in water at a depth of up to 1 meter. Note that movement in the water creates increased pressure as if it were at a greater depth.

In one word, quality. More specifically, amazing sound and bass performance. Having also its smaller sibling, the Motion 100, which is also at the same level as the whole series. I was between the Motion X600 and the X500 as I wanted something more powerful. I did not regret buying the X500. Powerful, clear, full sound even at 100%. As for the spatial audio, it’s not something extraordinary, it basically delivers stereo sound and tries to mimic spatial sound through its software and the top speaker. In a review teardown, the quality and sturdiness of its construction are revealed, as the reviewer says, the speaker is overengineered! High-quality components on the board and speakers. Beautiful, waterproof, made of aluminum and quality plastic on the back. I have nothing negative to comment on so far. Its app is simple and functional. One observation I have to make is about the volume performance, which I didn’t know, and this generally applies to portable speakers. The speaker delivers its maximum at 100% battery, but when the battery starts to drop, the maximum volume also decreases, regardless if it appears on the phone, for example, that it’s at max. This happens to maintain the same sound quality and avoid distortion, as the battery voltage drops, it cannot meet the speakers’ demands. That is, the up to 12 hours of battery life stated in the specs apply to 50% volume without spatial sound effects and LED lighting. The company does not specify at what percentage it starts to reduce the volume, but as far as I understand, it happens proportionally. If you want it to play for hours at full or near full volume, you’ll need to have it charging, otherwise, as time passes, it will sound lower and lower. Satisfactory battery for use in a closed or small space, but for example, for the beach, you’ll need a power bank. Also, for better sound performance, which again generally applies to all speakers as long as they have their own app and onboard sound processing and effects, it’s good, as I do playing from a Samsung phone, to turn off Dolby Atmos and the equalizer in the sound settings or set it to balanced so you give the speaker clean sound and it, in turn, delivers it as intended by each company. For anything else, I’ll come back
