Description

The Motorola R2 is a high-quality and cost-effective analog/digital radio. Along with its predecessors, the CP040 and DP1400, the R2 is largely one of the most popular two-way radios ever made.

The advanced features combined with its competitive price make the radio a top choice. Because the R2 can be both analog and digital, it is ideal for transitioning to digital two-way radio.

If your organization has an existing analog two-way radio, the Motorola R2 can be programmed to work with both your old and new radios. The R2 can be programmed to have both analog and digital channels. Once your organization has fully replaced all analog radios, the R2s can be reprogrammed to have all digital channels.

Easy to Carry - Instant Access

With a height of 12.7 cm, width of 6.1 cm, depth of 4.2 cm (with standard size battery), and weighing just 240 g, the Motorola R2 is a full-sized commercial two-way radio that is lightweight and fits comfortably in the user's hand. The R2 can also be attached to a belt using either a belt clip or a carrying case.

The R2 features programmable buttons that allow instant access to frequently used features. A common use for one of these buttons is an emergency function that will alert all other radios within range that there may be a security breach.

Indicative Features

Another function could be the activation or deactivation of scanning. Channel scanning is a very important feature of the R2 or any wireless device with more than one channel that needs to be monitored. On the R2, a channel can be set as a scanning channel.

Busy channel lockout is also a highly approved feature that will block anyone trying to transmit on a channel while someone is already speaking. This ensures that transmissions do not overlap, which would slow down the overall performance of the workforce.
