Description

The hydrocyclones or Y-series sand separators use centrifugal force to separate large quantities of sand from water. They are used as primary filters before any installation in application.

Their installation is vertical. Water enters the hydrocyclone through the tangential inlet, creating a spiral flow along the walls of the filter.

The centrifugal force separates the unwanted particles and sand, pushing them towards the walls of the sand separator. These particles lean downwards and into the collection chamber, while the clean water moves upwards and exits through the top outlet.

The collection chamber is easily cleaned by opening the drainage valve for a few seconds.
