Description & Specifications

The book "Robinson" is about friendship, imagination, and the healing power of stories. It is inspired by an experience that all children go through in one way or another: dealing with the opinions of others. "Robinson Crusoe" by Daniel Defoe, in an edition with fantastic illustrations, was one of my favorite childhood books. I was enchanted by the story of the castaway who manages to survive for many years on an isolated island due to his cleverness and resourcefulness. My book "Robinson" is inspired by a true childhood experience. I remembered this experience when I found a photo of myself dressed as the brave explorer for a school contest. My mother, Alenka, a talented artist, had skillfully made a costume for me using my sister's sports accessories. I won first prize and my photo appeared on the front page of the local newspaper. In my memory, the costume was not comfortable at all. The costume bothered me and my makeup was smudging. It was a tough experience that made me stronger. In my solitude, I became the master of my own island and managed to believe in myself again. When my friends came to see me, I was able to forgive them and move on, forgetting what had happened. Everyone now wanted to hear stories about Robinson Crusoe, and perhaps they had read the book together. After this experience, my friends and I had various adventures, discovering the North Pole and exploring the Himalayas.
