Description

Description

The TL-MR3420 from TP-LINK is a router, a device to which other devices (e.g., computer, mobile phone, television) connect either wirelessly or via cable, and it distributes internet access to them. To access the internet, it needs to be connected to a modem. It is a Wi-Fi 4 generation, an older generation recommended for use with a few devices and for applications that do not require high speeds. It broadcasts a signal on one frequency, 2.4Ghz, which offers lower speed compared to those that broadcast on 2 (dual) or 3 (tri-band) frequencies. The 2.4Ghz frequency is the most widespread and has a long range.

Convert 3 / 4G signal to Wi-Fi

Connect a USB 3 / 4G dongle to the TL-MR3420 and instantly create your own Wi-Fi hotspot. Share a stable Internet connection with your friends and family.

Connects more devices

Are you trying to get a fast connection with more devices? The TL-MR3420 provides speeds of up to 300Mbps for up to 32 electronic devices simultaneously. Stay connected with your smartphone, laptop, game console, and more.

Two ways, unlimited possibilities

The TL-MR3420 also supports WAN connection to the Internet via Ethernet cable. Switch between wired WAN connections and wireless 3 / 4G connections as needed with this cost-effective all-in-one router.

Easy setup and management

Set up the TL-MR3420 in minutes thanks to the intuitive web interface and the powerful Tether app. Manage network settings, including parental controls and access control, from any Android or iOS device. Monitor your home network whenever and wherever you are.

This review is about the network version: v3

Prefer version 5 (v5), essentially you get another machine with full support from TP-Link, cloud and mobile management, auto reboot, support for openwrt firmware, and many more. However, it works fine with a Vodafone 3G USB dongle that I have.

Good as a machine, it just doesn't do what it said! Although recognized by the tp link app, I couldn't activate it in cloud management, something that, even though it appears as a tab, seems to not work even with a static IP!

    Far away!!!
I have had the product since 13/7/2017.
I bought it to connect it with a 4g modem dongle stick, the k5160, provided by Vodafone. This is actually the ONLY modem that Vodafone provides worldwide!
It doesn't work at all! They don't cooperate, it doesn't even recognize it because it requires a special driver.
I contacted the official support of tplink and they sent me a program with which I had to create the driver MYSELF. What's even more unbelievable is that the program is only for Windows XP! Although I finally tried it 4-5 times, the program still doesn't work!
So stay away from this product and especially from this non-existent company with zero support!
