Description

Flash 10 by Wolfgang Kramer is a fast-paced game based on the Rack-O system, where players try to place cards in numerical order – but they do so simultaneously.

The deck includes 120 cards, twenty of which show a storm and the remaining hundred numbered from 0-99, with each card ending in 0 or 5 showing a lightning bolt. Someone shuffles the deck and then each player receives ten face-down cards, which they place in a row in front of them. Playing simultaneously and as quickly as possible, players reveal these cards (without rearranging them) and then begin to take cards one by one from those scattered in the middle of the table and place them below one of the ten cards in front of them, creating rows of cards as the game progresses. If a player draws a storm card, they can place it on any stack.

Once a player has ten numbered cards in ascending order from left to right, they shout "Stop!" and end the round. If correct, they gain 10 points, plus 2 points for completing the round. Each other player earns points for the number of cards in sequence starting from their leftmost stack. Additionally, each lightning bolt card (regardless of whether it is in sequence or not) is worth 1 point, while each storm card is worth -1 point. Players then shuffle the cards and start another round. Whoever first reaches 50 or more points wins!

Flash 10 includes two variations. In one, players can end the round even if they have one or more storm cards in their sequence. In the second, players use nine cards instead of ten and must arrange their cards in ascending and then descending order, with the fifth card in the sequence serving as a turning point.
