The Parkinson’s Faces Project showcases stunning black and white portraits of individuals diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. The portraits capture participants from one to twenty years post-diagnosis.
The photographs offer readers of this photo-album book a glimpse into the personal stories of patients, during their diagnosis, and words that will inspire.
Inspired by a black and white portrait of his good friend and caregiver, Alexandra, Nikolaos Koukoulakis created the Parkinson’s Faces Project. Nikolaos, who suffers from Parkinson's, expressed his desire to photograph his friends who were afflicted by the disease through dynamic black and white portraits.
Despite his personal challenges with Parkinson's disease, he decided to revive his passion for photography.
