The "Bayonet & Musket Battles" series is the continuation of the highly popular "Musket & Pike" series, showcasing the shift in European warfare from shock-based tactical systems to a modern reliance on artillery. Volume 1 will be "Banish All Their Fears," covering the battles of Neerwinden in 1693 and Blenheim in 1704.
- Neerwinden, July 29, 1693: War of the Grand Alliance. British King William III, outnumbered and tactically disadvantaged against the French army under the Duke of Luxembourg, refuses to retreat and chooses to defend a strong line of fortifications based on fortified villages.
- Blenheim, August 13, 1704: War of the Spanish Succession. The Duke of Marlborough leads his allied army deep into Bavaria, threatening to remove the French ally from the war. The French send an army under Marshal Tallard, who cooperates with the Bavarians.
Larger armies and the primacy of artillery mean significant changes to the familiar "Musket & Pike" game system:
- Larger armies: Brigades became the main maneuver element on the battlefield.
- Primacy of artillery: Combat has been simplified so that most unit engagements are resolved in 1-2 dice rolls with decisive results.
- Serious map and OOB research: The high quality of historical research continues.
