The Civil War left an indelible mark on the older generations. We, the younger ones, have taken in the scent left by those who lived through the events.
Thus, Sakis had a different story to tell us about the Civil War from the one that prevailed until the early years of the memoranda. Before, that is, SYRIZA came to power. And this is significant, in the sense that the urban myth in a country where the Left had ideologically dominated said that Greece would have been a better country had the communists won the Civil War.
Today, after 4.5 years of SYRIZA, the illusions have been overcome. They first needed to be disproven. It was undoubtedly a painful process. Perhaps something good will come out of all this in the end. As if we are finally burying the dead and deciding to continue with our lives.
The story that Sakis has to tell us about the Civil War serves Democracy greatly. The knowledge of the past does not stir up passions. The burying of the truth was what allowed the Left to claim revenge in the so-called third round.
