    I just put it on the joystick, so I don't know how long it will last. As for compatibility, it is NOT compatible with 2nd generation joysticks. If you want to use it, you need to change the connector that comes with the battery, with the one that your old joystick has. It's quite easy and works perfectly once you change it.
