Description

Self-confidence is the belief in ourselves and the positive assessment we have of our abilities and values.

As self-confidence is cultivated, we need to be close to children and help them to believe in themselves. Fairy tales are always a good means to instill values and moral rules in children and to help them cultivate their self-confidence and self-esteem.

These particular fairy tales focus on everything a child needs to gain self-confidence, which includes love and faith in oneself, effort, knowledge, recognition of their abilities and potentials, and of course the absence of comparison with other children. The heroes of the book are always small or little ones because they help children to unconsciously identify with them and thus understand that they too can succeed. There are fairy tales with little heroes who lacked self-confidence and managed to succeed, as well as little heroes who had self-confidence from the beginning, which children also enjoy.

Moreover, apart from fairy tales, a child learns to love and appreciate themselves when they have an adult by their side who believes that they can succeed. There are no mistakes, there are experiences. Let us focus on the positives rather than the negatives, on what children achieve and not on what they didn’t do so well.

Children do not know who they are; they learn who they are through the labels we assign to them. There is no reason to label them positively or negatively. It is always better to speak about specific behaviors that are acceptable or not.

Every child deserves a beautiful and safe environment, and we as adults have the obligation to provide that for them.
