Quarto is an exciting logic game that resembles the rules of the old "yellow and red" game. The game board has sixteen positions, where players alternately place a selected figure that has been given to them by the opponent. Each of the 16 wooden figures has four characteristics: it can be black or white, round or square, tall or short, with a hole or without. The winner is the one who places a row of 4 figures that share at least one common characteristic and additionally announces it by shouting Quarto! The game has been distinguished with many prestigious awards, including in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany, Italy, Finland, Canada, and the United States. In 1993, it was recognized as the best intellectual game by the MENSA association.
