1. The remote control crashes sometimes and goes all over the place
2. EVERY night when I turn it on I have to turn it off and on again for it to start
3. I got it for IPTV use and the sound only works on live channels and Greek series, not on foreign ones, I have tried everything and nothing works
4. It does not read the USB flash drive

On November 11, 2025, I bought the TV Box Homatics R 4K Plus. The box was connected to an amplifier and from the beginning it did not output multichannel sound either through HDMI or optical fiber, only stereo (PCM), despite the fact that in the menu the output for multichannel sound appeared to be enabled. I started searching on the Internet in many forums to see what was going on and I also sent an email to Homatics. Long story short, after many hours of searching, I discovered that the specific firmware (12.8.5221) that the box uses has a bug that does not allow it to output multichannel sound. I also discovered that the board of the box is a common platform from SEI Robotics that is provided to various retailers (Homatics, Dune, Nokiai) as well as to Chinese OEMs. The result is that each retailer sells it with their own firmware, some of which support updates and bug fixes, while others do not, so if you end up with faulty firmware, you're out of luck. Homatics distinguishes its own boxes by the serial number. After emailing them, they asked for the device's serial and replied that they do not support it as it is not theirs. So I was left with a box without support and with a sound problem. Of course, the store where I bought it ignored me, I received no help. Therefore, my options are either to try a firmware update myself with firmware available on the Internet, but with the risk of bricking the box, or to throw it away.
In conclusion, if you DON'T care about multichannel sound, OK, it will do the job. If you are interested in multichannel sound, be careful where you buy it from. The serial number should start with GZxxxx so you have a chance of support. Otherwise, stay away from this box.

To κουτί συνδέθηκε σε ενισχυτή και από την αρχή δεν έδινε ούτε μέσω HDMI ούτε μέσω οπτικής ίνας πολυκάναλο ήχο, παρά μόνο στερεοφωνικό (PCM), παρά το γεγονός πως στο μενού φαινόταν ενεργοποιημένη η έξοδος για πολυκάναλο ήχο. Άρχισα να ψάχνω στο Ιντερνετ σε πολλά fora να δω τι γίνεται και έστειλα και email στη Homatics. Να μη τα πολυλογώ μετά πολλές ώρες ψαξίματος ανακάλυψα πως το συγκεκριμένο firmware ( 12.8.5221) που φοράει το box έχει bug που δεν το αφήνει να δώσει πολύκάναλο ήχο. Επίσης ανακάλυψα πως το board του κουτιού είναι κοινή πλατφόρμα της SEI Robotics που τη δίνει σε διάφορους retailers (Ηοmatics, Dune, Nokiai ) αλλά και σε ΟΕΜ κινέζους. ΤΟ αποτέλεσμα είναι οτι ο κάθε retailer πουλάει με το δικό το firmware που κάποιοι υποστηρίζουν με updates διόρθωση bugs κλπ ενώ κάποιοι όχι, οποτε αν σου κάτσει ελατωμματικό firmware τη πατησες. Η homatics ξεχωρίζει τα δικά της κουτιά απο το serial. Στέλνοντας email σε αυτούς, μου ζήτησαν το serial της συσκευής και μου απάντησαν πως δεν το υποστηρίζουν καθώς δεν είναι δικό τους. Άρα έμεινα με ένα κουτί χωρίς υποστήριξη και πρόβλημα στον ήχο. Aπό το κατάστημα αγοράς φυσικά με αγνόησαν, δεν είχα καμία βοήθεια. Επομένως οι επιλογές μου είναι ή να δοκιμάσω μόνος μου firmware update με firmware που κυκλοφορούν στο Internet αλλά με κίνδυνο το κουτί να γίνει brick ή να το πετάξω.
Εν κατακλείδι αν ΔΕΝ σας νοιάζει ο πολυκάναλος ήχος, ΟΚ θα τη κάνει τη δουλειά. Αν σας ενδιαφέρει ο πολυκάναλος ήχος προσέξτε από που θα αγοράσετε. Θα πρέπει το serial number να ξεκινά απο GZxxxx ώστε να έχετε πιθανότητα υποστήριξης. Διαφορετικά, μακρυά από αυτό το κουτί.
Just to warn you that this particular box is NO LONGER SUPPORTED by the company, NOR does it provide OTA updates. I ended up with a firmware version that has a sound issue (it only outputs PCM) and I can't do anything about it. I would suggest you avoid it.
Aπλα να προειδοποιήσω πωε το συγκεκριμενο box πλέον ΔΕΝ ΥΠΟΣΤΗΡΙΖΕΤΑΙ απο την εταιρεία, ΟΥΤΕ δίνει ΟΤΑ updates. Εγώ πέτυχα μια έκδοση firmware που εχει πρόβλημα στον ήχο (βγάζει μόνο PCM) και δεν μπορώ να κανω τίποτα. Θα έλεγα να το αποφύγετε.
It does what it promises, supports everything.
On the first startup, since it was already connected to an ethernet cable, it immediately upgraded to Android 12, within two weeks it got version 14, and since it's now available, it will get it even sooner!
Although with version 14 it became a bit less responsive, mainly at startup, once it loads the app you want, you're OK!
With my experience with many TV boxes over the last decade, even though it doesn't have the most powerful specs in the entire market, compared to those with full support and certifications for everything, I think it's the strongest!
Κάνει όσα υπόσχεται, υποστηρίζει τα πάντα.
Με την πρώτη εκκίνηση επειδή ήταν ήδη σε καλώδιο ethernet, πήρε κατευθείαν αναβάθμιση σε Android 12, εντός δύο εβδομάδων πήρε την έκδοση 14 και εφόσον είναι πλέον διαθέσιμη θα την παίρνει ποιο σύντομα!
Αν και στην 14 έγινε λίγο ποιο δυσκίνητο κυρίως στην εκκίνηση, όταν φορτώσει την εφαρμογή που θέλεις είσαι ΟΚ!
Με την εμπειρία μου σε πολλά Tv boxes, την τελευταία δεκαετία , αν και δεν έχει τα ποιο δυνατά χαρακτηριστικά στο σύνολο της αγοράς , σε σχέση με αυτά που έχουν πλήρη υποστήριξη με πιστοποιήσεις στα πάντα, νομίζω πως είναι το ποιο δυνατό!

Since the store where you bought it is unlikely to give you the company details from which they source the device, you send the serial number to the store where you bought it and they request the upgrade from the company. At least that's what happened to me. Otherwise, ask before buying if the serial number of the devices they sell starts with GZ, if not, buy from another store.
Upd: Homatics has long since removed the form where you could request to add the serial number to the update list. Now all devices gradually receive updates, regardless of the serial number. Also, they have released 3 updates recently (the last one was yesterday). Anyone who doesn't want to wait for the OTA Update can install it themselves from a USB stick. The process is so easy that even a child could do it.
Πάρα πολύ καλό. Έχουν γράψει ήδη αρκετά από πλεονεκτήματα της συσκευής. Το μόνο που πρέπει να συμπληρώσουμε είναι ότι για αναβάθμιση στη Homatics πρέπει να γράφετε μόνο εάν ο συριακός αριθμός σας ξεκινάει από GZ και μετά τα πολλά ψηφία. Όπως μου είπαν στη Homatics έχουν πολλούς μεταπωλητές οι οποίοι έχουν διαφορετικό σειριακό αριθμό και ασχολούνται ίδιοι με ενημέρωση συσκευών που πουλάνε. Οπότε πρέπει να επικοινωνήσετε με μεταπωλητή. Επειδή το κατάστημα αγοράς δύσκολα να σας δώσει στοιχεία εταιρείας από την οποία προμηθεύουν τη συσκευή, στέλνετε το σειριακό αριθμό στο κατάστημα αγοράς και αυτοί ζητάνε αναβάθμιση από εταιρεία. Τουλάχιστον έτσι έτυχε σε μένα. Διαφορετικά ρωτάτε πριν την αγορά εάν ο σειριακός αριθμός συσκευών που πουλάνε ξεκινάει με GZ, εάν όχι αγοραστε από άλλο κατάστημα.
Upd: Η Homatics έχει καταργήσει εδώ και καιρό τη φόρμα στην οποία ζητούσες να προστεθεί ο σειριακός αριθμός στη λίστα ενημερώσεων. Τώρα πλέον λαμβάνουν ενημερώσεις σταδιακά όλες η συσκευές, ανεξάρτητα από το σειριακό αριθμό. Επίσης έχει δώσει τελευταίο καιρό 3 ενημερώσεις (η τελευταία εχθές). Όποιος δε θέλει να περιμένει OTA Update, μπορεί να εγκαταστήσει μόνος του από ένα στικακι. Η διαδικασία είναι τόσο εύκολη που θα τα καταφέρει και παιδάκι.

When something is good, we should say it. Especially when it saves you from spending at least 550 €. So, the box arrived very quickly and was impressive in terms of build quality with magnets underneath, so it "sat" perfectly on the old DVD player. It was purchased before buying a new Smart TV technology, given that it was tiring to "download" with the old one, even though it was top technology for its time, SAMSUNG. It came with a very functional remote control (it works from everywhere and has voice command) and its own HDMI cable. The TV recognized it immediately, downloaded and installed 6-7 apps, and I even added Chrome as an external apk myself. The file manager couldn't manage to launch it, we'll see. I installed another one. It plays Cosmote TV, Kodi, Netflix, Streamio, and I found more and more. I almost didn't sleep all night. As others who did the same say, the OTA (updates) is locked by the supplier, but if you send it the serial number only, via email, it unlocks it. Mine was unlocked during the night remotely. I sent it to [email protected] and now I have Android 12. Overall, a very good experience so far, I hope it lasts over time.
Όταν κάτι είναι καλό πρέπει να το λέμε .Ειδικά όταν σε σώζει από αγορά minimum 550 €.Λοιπόν το boxάκι ήρθε πολύ γρήγορα ήταν εντυπωσιακό ως ποιότητα κατασκευής με μαγνητάκια από κάτω οποτε "κάθισε" τέλεια επάνω στο παλιό DVD .Αγοράστηκε προ της αγοράς νέας τεχνολογίας Smart TV, δεδομένου οτι ήταν κουραστικό το "κατέβασμα" με την παλαιά, αν και κορυφαίας τεχνολογίας για την εποχή της SAMSUNG. Ήρθε με πολύ λειτουργικό τηλεκοντρόλ(πιάνει από παντού και έχει και voice commnand) και δικό του καλώδιο HDMI. Η τηλεόραση το είδε αμέσως κατέβασε και εγκατέστησε 6-7 εφαρμογές έβαλα και μόνος μου Chrome σαν εξωτερικό apk . O file manager δεν τα κατάφερε να εκκινήσει ,θα δούμε .Έκανα εγκατάσταση άλλον .Παίζει Cosmote Tv, Kodi ,Netflix ,Streamio και βρήκα και αλλα και αλλα και αλλα .Παραλίγο να μην κοιμηθώ όλο το βράδυ .Όπως λένε και άλλοι που έκαναν το ίδιο το OTA (updates) είναι κλειδωμένο από τον προμηθευτή αλλά εάν του στείλεις το σειριακό αριθμό μόνο, με email στο ξεκλειδώνει .Εμενα το ξεκλείδωσε κατά τη διάρκεια της νύχτας remotely.Έστειλα στο [email protected] και τώρα έχω Android 12.Γενικά πολύ καλή εμπειρία μεχρι στιγμής ελπίζω να κρατήσει και σε βάθος χρόνου .

Just to warn you that this particular box is NO LONGER SUPPORTED by the company, NOR does it provide OTA updates. I ended up with a firmware version that has a sound issue (it only outputs PCM) and I can't do anything about it. I would suggest you avoid it.

On November 11, 2025, I bought the TV Box Homatics R 4K Plus. The box was connected to an amplifier and from the beginning it did not output multichannel sound either through HDMI or optical fiber, only stereo (PCM), despite the fact that in the menu the output for multichannel sound appeared to be enabled. I started searching on the Internet in many forums to see what was going on and I also sent an email to Homatics. Long story short, after many hours of searching, I discovered that the specific firmware (12.8.5221) that the box uses has a bug that does not allow it to output multichannel sound. I also discovered that the board of the box is a common platform from SEI Robotics that is provided to various retailers (Homatics, Dune, Nokiai) as well as to Chinese OEMs. The result is that each retailer sells it with their own firmware, some of which support updates and bug fixes, while others do not, so if you end up with faulty firmware, you're out of luck. Homatics distinguishes its own boxes by the serial number. After emailing them, they asked for the device's serial and replied that they do not support it as it is not theirs. So I was left with a box without support and with a sound problem. Of course, the store where I bought it ignored me, I received no help. Therefore, my options are either to try a firmware update myself with firmware available on the Internet, but with the risk of bricking the box, or to throw it away.
In conclusion, if you DON'T care about multichannel sound, OK, it will do the job. If you are interested in multichannel sound, be careful where you buy it from. The serial number should start with GZxxxx so you have a chance of support. Otherwise, stay away from this box.

To κουτί συνδέθηκε σε ενισχυτή και από την αρχή δεν έδινε ούτε μέσω HDMI ούτε μέσω οπτικής ίνας πολυκάναλο ήχο, παρά μόνο στερεοφωνικό (PCM), παρά το γεγονός πως στο μενού φαινόταν ενεργοποιημένη η έξοδος για πολυκάναλο ήχο. Άρχισα να ψάχνω στο Ιντερνετ σε πολλά fora να δω τι γίνεται και έστειλα και email στη Homatics. Να μη τα πολυλογώ μετά πολλές ώρες ψαξίματος ανακάλυψα πως το συγκεκριμένο firmware ( 12.8.5221) που φοράει το box έχει bug που δεν το αφήνει να δώσει πολύκάναλο ήχο. Επίσης ανακάλυψα πως το board του κουτιού είναι κοινή πλατφόρμα της SEI Robotics που τη δίνει σε διάφορους retailers (Ηοmatics, Dune, Nokiai ) αλλά και σε ΟΕΜ κινέζους. On the first startup, since it was already connected to an ethernet cable, it immediately upgraded to Android 12, within two weeks it got version 14, and since it's now available, it will get it even sooner!
Although with version 14 it became a bit less responsive, mainly at startup, once it loads the app you want, you're OK!
With my experience with many TV boxes over the last decade, even though it doesn't have the most powerful specs in the entire market, compared to those with full support and certifications for everything, I think it's the strongest!

Με την πρώτη εκκίνηση επειδή ήταν ήδη σε καλώδιο ethernet, πήρε κατευθείαν αναβάθμιση σε Android 12, εντός δύο εβδομάδων πήρε την έκδοση 14 και εφόσον είναι πλέον διαθέσιμη θα την παίρνει ποιο σύντομα!
Αν και στην 14 έγινε λίγο ποιο δυσκίνητο κυρίως στην εκκίνηση, όταν φορτώσει την εφαρμογή που θέλεις είσαι ΟΚ!
Με την εμπειρία μου σε πολλά Tv boxes, την τελευταία δεκαετία , αν και δεν έχει τα ποιο δυνατά χαρακτηριστικά στο σύνολο της αγοράς , σε σχέση με αυτά που έχουν πλήρη υποστήριξη με πιστοποιήσεις στα πάντα, νομίζω πως είναι το ποιο δυνατό!

Upd: Homatics has long since removed the form where you could request to add the serial number to the update list. Now all devices gradually receive updates, regardless of the serial number. Also, they have released 3 updates recently (the last one was yesterday). Anyone who doesn't want to wait for the OTA Update can install it themselves from a USB stick. The process is so easy that even a child could do it.

Το μόνο που πρέπει να συμπληρώσουμε είναι ότι για αναβάθμιση στη Homatics πρέπει να γράφετε μόνο εάν ο συριακός αριθμός σας ξεκινάει από GZ και μετά τα πολλά ψηφία. Όπως μου είπαν στη Homatics έχουν πολλούς μεταπωλητές οι οποίοι έχουν διαφορετικό σειριακό αριθμό και ασχολούνται ίδιοι με ενημέρωση συσκευών που πουλάνε. Οπότε πρέπει να επικοινωνήσετε με μεταπωλητή. Επειδή το κατάστημα αγοράς δύσκολα να σας δώσει στοιχεία εταιρείας από την οποία προμηθεύουν τη συσκευή, στέλνετε το σειριακό αριθμό στο κατάστημα αγοράς και αυτοί ζητάνε αναβάθμιση από εταιρεία. Τουλάχιστον έτσι έτυχε σε μένα. Διαφορετικά ρωτάτε πριν την αγορά εάν ο σειριακός αριθμός συσκευών που πουλάνε ξεκινάει με GZ, εάν όχι αγοραστε από άλλο κατάστημα.
Upd: Η Homatics έχει καταργήσει εδώ και καιρό τη φόρμα στην οποία ζητούσες να προστεθεί ο σειριακός αριθμός στη λίστα ενημερώσεων. Τώρα πλέον λαμβάνουν ενημερώσεις σταδιακά όλες η συσκευές, ανεξάρτητα από το σειριακό αριθμό. Επίσης έχει δώσει τελευταίο καιρό 3 ενημερώσεις (η τελευταία εχθές). Όποιος δε θέλει να περιμένει OTA Update, μπορεί να εγκαταστήσει μόνος του από ένα στικακι. Η διαδικασία είναι τόσο εύκολη που θα τα καταφέρει και παιδάκι.

When something is good, we should say it. Especially when it saves you from spending at least 550 €. So, the box arrived very quickly and was impressive in terms of build quality with magnets underneath, so it "sat" perfectly on the old DVD player. It was purchased before buying a new Smart TV technology, given that it was tiring to "download" with the old one, even though it was top technology for its time, SAMSUNG. It came with a very functional remote control (it works from everywhere and has voice command) and its own HDMI cable. The TV recognized it immediately, downloaded and installed 6-7 apps, and I even added Chrome as an external apk myself. The file manager couldn't manage to launch it, we'll see. I installed another one. It plays Cosmote TV, Kodi, Netflix, Streamio, and I found more and more. I almost didn't sleep all night. As others who did the same say, the OTA (updates) is locked by the supplier, but if you send it the serial number only, via email, it unlocks it. Mine was unlocked during the night remotely. I sent it to [email protected] and now I have Android 12. Overall, a very good experience so far, I hope it lasts over time.
Όταν κάτι είναι καλό πρέπει να το λέμε .Ειδικά όταν σε σώζει από αγορά minimum 550 €.Λοιπόν το boxάκι ήρθε πολύ γρήγορα ήταν εντυπωσιακό ως ποιότητα κατασκευής με μαγνητάκια από κάτω οποτε "κάθισε" τέλεια επάνω στο παλιό DVD .Αγοράστηκε προ της αγοράς νέας τεχνολογίας Smart TV, δεδομένου οτι ήταν κουραστικό το "κατέβασμα" με την παλαιά, αν και κορυφαίας τεχνολογίας για την εποχή της SAMSUNG. Ήρθε με πολύ λειτουργικό τηλεκοντρόλ(πιάνει από παντού και έχει και voice commnand) και δικό του καλώδιο HDMI. Η τηλεόραση το είδε αμέσως κατέβασε και εγκατέστησε 6-7 εφαρμογές έβαλα και μόνος μου Chrome σαν εξωτερικό apk . O file manager δεν τα κατάφερε να εκκινήσει ,θα δούμε .Έκανα εγκατάσταση άλλον .Παίζει Cosmote Tv, Kodi ,Netflix ,Streamio και βρήκα και αλλα και αλλα και αλλα .Παραλίγο να μην κοιμηθώ όλο το βράδυ .Όπως λένε και άλλοι που έκαναν το ίδιο το OTA (updates) είναι κλειδωμένο από τον προμηθευτή αλλά εάν του στείλεις το σειριακό αριθμό μόνο, με email στο ξεκλειδώνει .Εμενα το ξεκλείδωσε κατά τη διάρκεια της νύχτας remotely.Έστειλα στο [email protected] και τώρα έχω Android 12.Γενικά πολύ καλή εμπειρία μεχρι στιγμής ελπίζω να κρατήσει και σε βάθος χρόνου .

Να μη τα πολυλογώ μετά πολλές ώρες ψαξίματος ανακάλυψα πως το συγκεκριμένο firmware ( 12.8.5221) που φοράει το box έχει bug που δεν το αφήνει να δώσει πολύκάναλο ήχο. Επίσης ανακάλυψα πως το board του κουτιού είναι κοινή πλατφόρμα της SEI Robotics που τη δίνει σε διάφορους retailers (Ηοmatics, Dune, Nokiai ) αλλά και σε ΟΕΜ κινέζους. ΤΟ αποτέλεσμα είναι οτι ο κάθε retailer πουλάει με το δικό το firmware που κάποιοι υποστηρίζουν με updates διόρθωση bugs κλπ ενώ κάποιοι όχι, οποτε αν σου κάτσει ελατωμματικό firmware τη πατησες. Η homatics ξεχωρίζει τα δικά της κουτιά απο το serial. Στέλνοντας email σε αυτούς, μου ζήτησαν το serial της συσκευής και μου απάντησαν πως δεν το υποστηρίζουν καθώς δεν είναι δικό τους. Άρα έμεινα με ένα κουτί χωρίς υποστήριξη και πρόβλημα στον ήχο. Aπό το κατάστημα αγοράς φυσικά με αγνόησαν, δεν είχα καμία βοήθεια. Επομένως οι επιλογές μου είναι ή να δοκιμάσω μόνος μου firmware update με firmware που κυκλοφορούν στο Internet αλλά με κίνδυνο το κουτί να γίνει brick ή να το πετάξω.
Εν κατακλείδι αν ΔΕΝ σας νοιάζει ο πολυκάναλος ήχος, ΟΚ θα τη κάνει τη δουλειά. Αν σας ενδιαφέρει ο πολυκάναλος ήχος προσέξτε από που θα αγοράσετε. Θα πρέπει το serial number να ξεκινά απο GZxxxx ώστε να έχετε πιθανότητα υποστήριξης. Διαφορετικά, μακρυά από αυτό το κουτί.
Just to warn you that this particular box is NO LONGER SUPPORTED by the company, NOR does it provide OTA updates. I ended up with a firmware version that has a sound issue (it only outputs PCM) and I can't do anything about it. I would suggest you avoid it.
Aπλα να προειδοποιήσω πωε το συγκεκριμενο box πλέον ΔΕΝ ΥΠΟΣΤΗΡΙΖΕΤΑΙ απο την εταιρεία, ΟΥΤΕ δίνει ΟΤΑ updates. Εγώ πέτυχα μια έκδοση firmware που εχει πρόβλημα στον ήχο (βγάζει μόνο PCM) και δεν μπορώ να κανω τίποτα. Θα έλεγα να το αποφύγετε.
