Description

Unaware of future developments, a large community of undeniable Greek identity lived and thrived in the past in the present neighboring country. It still lives under indescribably difficult conditions in that Greek land, which in recent decades has unfortunately been considered by some as a region foreign to its history and historical name, and by others as part of a larger homonymous Slavic country.

Indigenous Greeks and refugees, urban dwellers and nomads, Slavic speakers, Vlachs, and Sarakatsani, the true Macedonians, frightened by the brutal regime under which they live and disappointed by the indifference of the Greek state that ignores them, patiently await the end or the beginning of a great Greek journey, in defiance of those who chose to design history at diplomatic negotiation tables, oblivious to the real protagonists.

Thus, the true Greek north, the Monastery and the Megalopolis, Krushevo and Gevgelija, Ohrid and Strumica will remain (for how much longer?) a distant memory for the Macedonians and an unknown land for our political and spiritual leaders.
