ALDABONAZO! - a warning knock on the door - was a cry for solidarity from students and young workers who took to the streets of Cuba in 1952 to resist the military coup of Fulgencio Batista.
They were called the "Generation of the Centennial," and this youth sparked the political struggle that, in less than a decade, under the leadership of Fidel Castro, would overthrow Batista's bloody dictatorship, supported by the U.S., and opened the path of rebellion in the American continent.
In this narrative by Armando Hart, one of the historical leaders of the Cuban Revolution, we meet many of the men and women of the July 26 Movement who - with courage, daring, and constantly growing political clarity - led the revolutionary struggle in both small and large towns of Cuba, while simultaneously organizing support, gathering supplies, and recruiting fighters for their comrades in the Revolutionary Army in the Sierra mountains.
