The extract of this herb is produced from the brownish berries of the saw palmetto plant, which thrives mainly in the southeastern USA. The plant has been used for many centuries to treat prostate problems. According to a 1993 report in Germany, 90% of patients suffering from benign prostatic hyperplasia are given natural therapeutic substances. 50% of German urologists prefer administering herbal extracts over synthetic drugs. Among all herbs, saw palmetto is the most widely used.

The data regarding the effectiveness of saw palmetto are impressive. Research results have shown that the natural therapeutic substance derived from this herb has a 90% success rate in treating prostatic hyperplasia, in terms of improving urine flow, proper bladder emptying, the sensation of pain and discomfort during urination, as well as avoiding nocturnal enuresis.     I have been diagnosed with mild hyperplasia and chronic prostatitis. After 20 Prostasan pills I saw no improvement. In my case, I only noticed significant improvement with special pelvic exercises which I performed morning and night, after a week had passed. I repeat them every day. This particular preparation may indeed have an effect on others, but that did not happen for me.
