This review is about the capacity: 512 GB

The review pertains to the 512GB (I couldn't find the 1TB to purchase).

Very nice in design (made of aluminum) and with the RGB LED lighting changing colors (not adjustable by any software), those with ASUS ROG ALLY (and not only) will love it.

It comes in a quite decent premium packaging which includes, apart from the SSD, 2 USB Type-C to Type-C cables and one USB Type-C to USB Type-A cable (they could have included a Type-C to Type-C with an adapter for Type-A), a very nice carrying-storage case for the SSD and its cables, and finally, it also includes a (sturdy) support stand, which for those who want it placed vertically, "snaps" in.

It supports up to USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 with whatever that means in speeds... which really seemed quite fast to me in transfers either from/to the laptop (ASUS ROG) or from/to the ALLY or between two SSDs.

The accompanying security software (with AES 256-bit encryption) after installation creates a "secure folder" with a password within which you can transfer everything; however, it is excessively slow (for an SSD) in data transfer (obviously due to the on-the-fly encryption), while for video and audio files you have to wait for it to read it first and then "play" it... If they are simply on the disk (not encrypted), then all is well in reading speed. Finally, according to the company, files that have been encrypted cannot be recovered once deleted... and that's both good and bad... (I didn't try to recover any "deleted" files to check...)
