The Maxlife handheld console encourages children to memorise and repeat sequences of illuminated buttons by pressing them in the correct order. The game exercises working memory, concentration and hand-eye coordination, while helping develop motor skills and manual dexterity. It features illuminated buttons, sound effects with songs and spoken words in English, as well as a display that shows the game level.

It includes six modes: speed mode with 120 levels, memory mode, scoring mode, multiplayer mode, score competition and level competition. In the last two modes, players can score as many points as possible within a set time or over multiple rounds, or complete a set number of levels as quickly as possible.
