Owner of this particular processor for a year now, the system was built for streaming. Together with a 4070 super, it doesn't break a sweat. Of course, it doesn't reach the 9800x3d but it's worth its money. Very good and it did not disappoint me.

Simply fantastic CPU. Bought at 260 euros, with undervolt -30 pbo, 105 TDP, I have 40 degrees idle and 55 degrees in gaming with a simple triple water cooling. I am very satisfied

the best for multitasking, video & music editing, and of course gaming at the same time. it doesn't reach the 9800x3d in gaming performance obviously, but you'll only see a difference in a few games in the frames. if you don't want to give one of your kidneys for a cpu and you want to do everything, it's the only way. *great tolerance for overclocking with a suitable aio.

As an Intel fan boy for so many years, I never expected that AMD would have evolved so much in the field of CPUs. I bought this particular processor so I wouldn't spend a lot of money (purchased at 260 euros) since I plan to upgrade to the best chip of the next generation in a few years. I thought it would be an average CPU but I was pleasantly surprised! It is a high-end processor that, with -30 on the PBO curve, TDP at 105W, and +200 MHz boost on the cores, reaches 5750GHz peak with a maximum temperature of 76 degrees in stress test!! In all games, it keeps the 1% lows steadily just above 60 fps without crazy fluctuations with a 4060ti at 4k with DLSS on quality!! So far I have been very satisfied. I highly recommend it.

This review is about the packaging: Tray

I use the AMD Ryzen 7 9700X mainly for 3D (CPU) rendering in Blender, coding, browsing, and occasional gaming. I have it paired with the Gigabyte B850M Aorus Elite WIFI6E Ice and it works flawlessly, boosting with PBO up to 5.5 GHz. Temperatures do rise, but the efficiency is clearly better than the equivalent Intel CPUs (Max ~140W).

In terms of multitasking, it is truly impressive. I can run rendering, coding tools, and browsing simultaneously without delays. I believe it is the sweet spot for mid-high end builds, with an excellent balance of performance and efficiency.

Equivalent Intel CPUs may come at a better purchase price, but due to high temperatures they require a more expensive cooler, and power consumption is noticeably higher, which is reflected in the bill, especially in Greece where energy costs are high. Thus, overall, the Ryzen 7 9700X is a more advantageous and efficient choice for the market here in Greece.

    Coming from a Ryzen 5 7600, it's a very good uplift.
In terms of temperatures, it's generally a slightly warmer processor (5-10) degrees in idle state, around 37-40 in a warm house (22-25 degrees room temperature).
Of course, it's very good in productivity but also in single-core performance, much better than the 7600.
Be careful with the BIOS after installation; it has PBO automatically enabled, and under full load, it draws 140W. If you disable it, at stock it is at 88W max. Personally, I don't think it's worth enabling PBO, especially if the processor is intended for gaming, because it doesn't provide anything significant extra compared to the double wattage it draws if you enable it. The price is a bit steep, but I think it's worth it. ️

If you don't want to spend 600 Euros on a processor, it's a pretty good solution. There are very small differences with 3D processors for 1440P gaming, but for 1080P although the difference is a little bit more, with a good motherboard and 105W bios, the difference is still pretty small, and it's a product that runs pretty cool (36 C idle winter) even with simple coolers.

The best option right now in the mid/high segment category. If generally the Ryzen Zen3/Zen4 need tweaking to perform at their best, this one needs something extra. 2-3 tips to get the most out of it without overclocking and without increasing consumption (Ideally with memories 6400mhz and above): Enable EXPO, thermal limit 80c, curve optimizer negative 30. Besides that, depending on the motherboard and memory, explore performance enhancements from manufacturers as well as DRAM timings.

I won't go into technical details as I haven't researched that much yet. I've been using the processor for 1 week mainly for gaming and small tasks. I was between this one and the 7800x3d, but I saw that the differences with the 4080 super at 2K+ resolution are negligible. Regarding usage: during continuous tasks, installing applications, and playing games simultaneously, I managed to see up to 62 degrees. I use the Lian Li Galahad II Trinity 360. Low power consumption and a lower price when I bought it compared to the 7800x3d. IMPORTANT: a BIOS update for the new generation of AMD processors should be done as current MOBOs are not updated; if not done, I faced difficulties and had no display. With the MSI MOBO, I had the ability to do a direct BIOS flash update with a USB drive, and everything worked correctly and smoothly right away.

  • Owner of this particular processor for a year now, the system was built for streaming. Together with a 4070 super, it doesn't break a sweat. Of course, it doesn't reach the 9800x3d but it's worth its money. Very good and it did not disappoint me.

  • Simply fantastic CPU. Bought at 260 euros, with undervolt -30 pbo, 105 TDP, I have 40 degrees idle and 55 degrees in gaming with a simple triple water cooling. I am very satisfied

  • the best for multitasking, video & music editing, and of course gaming at the same time. it doesn't reach the 9800x3d in gaming performance obviously, but you'll only see a difference in a few games in the frames. if you don't want to give one of your kidneys for a cpu and you want to do everything, it's the only way. *great tolerance for overclocking with a suitable aio.

  • As an Intel fan boy for so many years, I never expected that AMD would have evolved so much in the field of CPUs.
