With the MAG544 set-top box, the user can enjoy Linear TV, video-on-demand, and IPTV/OTT content. The device plays content from the internet, the local network, and external storage media. Providers have the ability to customize the device to suit their own projects, offering users a unique interface, a distinct user experience, and reliable technical support.
The new Amlogic S905Y4-B chipset and the quad-core ARM Cortex-A35 processor enhance the performance of the MAG544 compared to the previous generation of MAG devices. All these technical features help the UI run quickly and play content smoothly.
The set-top box MAG544 supports the AV1 and HEVC codecs, allowing it to play 4K content without overloading the internet connection. While the H.264 standard requires 32 Mbps for video processing, HEVC requires only 16 Mbps.
It uses a 100 Mbps Ethernet port for connecting to the internet. Content loading is carried out exclusively through the wired network.
Infomir offers its own API, which makes it easier to integrate content protection systems and develop software. You can develop applications for the MAG544 set-top box (which is based on the Linux operating system) as web pages, using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
The provider can create client apps for middleware, while system integrators can release software for hotels, campsites, and cruise ships.
With support for eight-channel Dolby Digital Plus™ audio, you can connect seven speakers and one subwoofer to your set-top box. In this way, you distribute the audio channels evenly throughout the space and allow the user to enjoy an immersive experience when viewing content.
The MAG544 integrates easily into an existing video service where older MAG set-top boxes are already used. Only a few lines of code are needed to make the transition.
The provider can customize the MAG device to suit their own projects. Upon customer request, we can provide customization services to add the provider's branding to the packaging, the set-top box, or the remote control, as well as to configure the device's software.
This device can also be used without an internet connection (offline). The MAG544 plays content reliably both from external storage media and NAS servers. Hotels, restaurants, cafes, cruise ships, and places without internet access can benefit from this feature.
The MAG544 comes with a programmable infrared (IR) remote control, made from non-slip ABS plastic. It is highly durable—each button is designed to withstand 300,000 presses.
You have the option to set code pages and infrared systems. This way, you can configure the remote control to avoid interference with other devices in the area; alternatively, it can control the TV, air conditioner, and other devices equipped with an infrared receiver.
The set-top box features two USB 2.0 ports. Through these, you can connect various peripherals to the device, such as speakers, keyboards, and mice. This makes text input and the use of the built-in web browser much easier.
Thanks to its specifications, the MAG544 ensures the stable operation of the device's UI. The set-top box can play content continuously for months without requiring shutdown or restart.
