Eruca sativa rocket seeds are grown to produce young shoots with a peppery, mildly spicy flavour and a crisp texture. Sow the seeds densely in a small tray or container, in a warm, sunny spot with moist soil, and water regularly. The shoots are ready to harvest in 7–10 days and can be added to salads, sandwiches, smoothies and other dishes.
