I bought it to have it with me during the summer days. I fill it in the morning with fridge-cold water and by noon it's already lukewarm, without any direct exposure to the sun. If you put ice, it stays cold for more hours, but I don't think it makes sense to buy a thermos if you have to fill it with ice.
    P.S. I miss the old good thermoses that you could leave in the sun for hours and they wouldn't be affected at all!
