The story begins back in 1984, when Stavros Tsiknakis, the founder of the business, along with his wife Mrs. Maria and their four children, opened a small bakery in the village of Petrokeras in Crete and produced traditional bread and handmade barley rusk.
The two sons of the family, Manolis and Charidimos, grew up working alongside their parents, specializing in the work of a "baker," and since it was the only bakery in the area, they began distributing their products to neighboring villages.
The barley rusk and the "Tsiknakis" bread quickly began to gain fame beyond the borders of Crete, thus steadily creating a nationwide distribution network for their products and later they successfully started penetrating international markets.
