The Thermal Grizzly CPU Contact Frame Intel 1700 LT is the "Lite" version of the CPU contact frame for Intel 13th/14th Gen and is manufactured using the injection molding method.
The material used is an acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer with a glass fiber content of 15% for added stability.
The standard integrated load mechanism (ILM) features contact points located at the center of the elongated CPU. Due to the resulting uneven contact pressure of the processor in the socket, the surface of the integrated heat spreader (IHS) curves concavely. As a result, the base plate of the CPU cooler mainly supports on the edges of the IHS, and the thermal “hotspot” in the center of the CPU is not optimally covered.
The CPU contact frame Intel 1700 LT has a special internal contour to shift the contact pressure from the center of the CPU to the edges during assembly. This prevents the concave curvature of the IHS. Consequently, CPU coolers are better supported on the processor, providing a larger contact area for dissipating the CPU's waste heat.
Installing the contact frame is very straightforward and requires only a few steps. Depending on the CPU cooler and the CPU used, processor temperatures can be significantly reduced.
The CPU contact frame Intel 1700 LT is compatible with 12th, 13th, and 14th generation processors for the LGA1700 socket. Additionally, it is only compatible with processors whose integrated heat spreader (IHS) has been milled by a maximum of 0.2 millimeters. During installation, ensure that there are no electronic components beneath the frame, particularly for Mini-ITX form factor motherboards.
The removal of the integrated load mechanism (ILM) from the motherboard may void the motherboard manufacturer's warranty.
