58 B.C.: The Swiss migrate to Gaul through the territory of the Aedui, allies of the Romans. They are repelled by Caesar but cross the lands of the Sequani and plunder them. Caesar clashes with the Helvetii at the river Arar and crushes them. Summer 58 B.C.: The Suebi of Ariovistus expand into Gaul and threaten the Gauls. Their leaders seek help from Caesar, inadvertently opening the gates of Hell for themselves. Caesar seizes the opportunity to conquer Gaul and emerge as the supreme commander of Roman forces abroad. He crushes the Suebi and establishes himself with his army in Gaul.

57 B.C.: The Belgae ally with other Gallic tribes fearing the wintering Roman army in Gaul. However, Caesar moves first, crushes them, and subjugates the surrounding tribes. He also conquers the tribes along the Atlantic coast.

Autumn 57 B.C.: The Romans secure control of the Alps by driving out the nearby Gallic tribes.

56 B.C.: Caesar defeats the naval people of the Armoricans at sea, and Publius Crassus subjugates Aquitania.

55 B.C.: Caesar builds a bridge over the Rhine and invades Germany, destroying villages and crops. He crushes two Germanic tribes, the Usipetes and the Tencteri. He returns to Gaul. The first Roman landing in Britain, a conflict with local tribes, and return to Gaul.

54 B.C.: The second Roman landing in Britain, fierce clashes with the Britons, and advance as far as the Thames. The Britons surrender.

54 - 52 B.C.: Uprisings across Gaul against the Romans. Intense clashes between Gallic tribes and the Roman army. A heavy defeat for Caesar at Zergovia, but ultimately, he emerges victorious in the siege of Alesia against Vercingetorix, the great leader of the Gauls, and definitively subjugates Gaul.

These events are included in the work De bello Gallico, the translation of which into Greek is provided by this book, a historical work of seven volumes in which Julius Caesar narrates his victorious wars against the Gauls (58 B.C. - 52 B.C.). This is done through the reports he compiled with his commanders to send to the Senate, which oversaw the activities of the lieutenants such as Caesar.
