However, this fertility is less ensured by the water of the rich plain and more by the sweat of exhausting labor. The beauty of weathered faces, the strength of hardened hands, the solidarity of a community unscathed by the divisive distinctions of male and female, the resilience of a consciousness nailed to the demand for the absolutely essential, the sufficiency of a character untouched by the expectation of the superfluous.
This is why the forms he captures seem to move on the steps of a heroic scale, while the accompanying presence of the surroundings reveals the health of a different kind of relationship with nature, unimaginable for the artificial and pre-manufactured ecological sensitivities of our days.
