The FiiO FT1 offers headphone covers made from North American walnut/beech wood. Thanks to the use of natural solid wood, the smooth finish and fine texture immerse you in the natural beauty of the original material, effectively reducing cavity resonance and minimizing standing waves, ensuring that the texture of each wooden headphone cover is unique to you.
Sound of Nature Natural Solid Wood Shell
The FiiO FT1 offers headphone covers made from North American walnut/beech wood. Thanks to the use of natural solid wood, the smooth finish and fine texture immerse you in the natural beauty of the original material, effectively reducing cavity resonance and minimizing standing waves, ensuring that the texture of each wooden headphone cover is unique to you.
Endless possibilities, thanks to a sturdy base and a powerful large 60 mm driver
The FIIO FT1 features a newly developed second-generation 60 mm dynamic driver, meticulously designed specifically for FIIO's first over-ear close-back headphones. Its larger-than-average driver size enhances energy conversion performance and provides a solid foundation for powerful bass. Additionally, the increased driver size results in lower low-frequency resonance points, allowing for deeper bass, dynamic sound, and an overall authentic audio experience.
Composite diaphragm made of Nanowood fibers
The diaphragm of the FIIO FT1 is mainly made from carefully selected wood fibers, based on 90-year-old spruce wood from Northern Europe, which is a top-quality raw material for musical instruments and fiber products, known for its pure sound and natural tone. The spruce wood undergoes a series of processes, such as soaking, cooking, and beating, to create a special wood pulp.
To meet the requirements of acoustic durability, a precise ratio of carbon fiber material is added. Then, the diaphragm undergoes another round of baking and molding, resulting in a final thickness of about 0.1 mm, lightweight and durable. To fully release the acoustic performance of the nanowood fibers, a lightweight PU material with high internal resistance is used for the suspension flange, improving the compliance of the diaphragm and enhancing low-frequency elasticity, while also increasing the density of vocals from the sound source, resulting in warm, rich vocals.
The FIIO FT1, in line with its overall acoustic design and high-level listening experience, uses a composite diaphragm made from nanotechnology fibers [2]. This diaphragm consists of carefully selected wood fibers combined with a lightweight PU (polyurethane) suspension flange. It delivers excellent high-frequency extension and transient response, resulting in clear, accurate sound with a pure imaging tone and provides you with uniquely sweet, rich, and high-density mid-frequency vocals. This driver works in harmony with the other headphone design elements of the FT1 for a specially tuned frequency response for a clear and enjoyable audio experience. It's as if the elegant aesthetics are perfectly translated into beautiful sound.
The FIIO FT1, as FIIO's first closed-back over-ear headphone model, introduces a new generation of proprietary acoustic technology — the W-shaped suspension ring. The 25mm diameter voice coil is larger compared to similar models and has undergone special optimization and tuning. Compared to typical diaphragms of similar size, the W-shaped diaphragm achieves a 25.8% increase in active vibration surface area, allowing for the retention of greater energy reserves.
The diaphragm of the FT1, featuring a rigid dome and a compliant suspension ring, allows the large 25mm voice coil to directly drive the stiffest area of the dome. This configuration minimizes vibration losses between different materials and reduces distortion caused by driver breakup, enabling the FT1 to deliver an exceptionally refined sound.
Lighter, stronger: Ultra-thin Japanese CCAW voice coil
To ensure robust and high-quality sound, the FIIO FT1 uses a specially imported from Japan, ultra-thin CCAW (Copper-Clad Aluminum Wire) voice coil with a diameter reaching 25mm. The greater length of the copper wire in the coil directly enhances the efficiency of the driver and its driving capability, improving transient response and resulting in a cleaner and more relaxed sound.
Each individual wire core in the CCAW coil has a diameter of about 0.035mm, which is as thin as a hair. In addition, the voice coil frame of the FT1 uses the ultra-light material KSV (Kapton), which significantly contributes to reducing the overall mass of the diaphragm. The result is increased response speed and minimization of unwanted reverberations.
Includes 2 silver-plated copper cables
The brand new FT1 comes with two headphone cables – one ending in a single 3.5 mm jack and the other with a balanced 4.4 mm plug. Both cables are identically made with wire from a silver-plated, oxygen-free copper base with 392 strands, have a thickness of 24AWG, and a length of 1.5 meters. This makes the FT1 widely compatible with many audio devices, as you can easily switch between the cables. They deliver a transparent yet robust sound, allowing you to fully enjoy high-quality, lossless audio.
High-Resolution Audio Certification
The FT1 headphones have been certified by the Japan Audio Society (JAS) and the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) as Hi-Res Audio capable headphones. This demonstrates the headphones' ability to faithfully and accurately reproduce sound as it is intended to be heard.
