Aloe (aloe vera) The genus Aloe includes over 350 species belonging to the family of Asphodelaceae (Aloaceae). The main species used for their medicinal properties include Aloe capensis, Aloe arborescens, Aloe chinensis, Aloe barbarensis (vera), and Aloe variegata.
