The Great Wall: Stretch Goals board game expansion by Awaken Realms enriches The Great Wall with additional content for 1–5 players. It is an asymmetric worker and soldier placement game with progression mechanics, featuring the ever-attacking Mongol horde as the opposing force and encouraging players to work together to defend themselves. Players control ancient tribes in China, defend their lands, and build the Great Wall while competing to gain Honor.
The tribes differ through their leader, who determines resource production, starting resources, and units. As the game progresses, advisors with unique skills add further asymmetry. The game is divided into production, Wall defense, and Wall construction phases.
