Description

The new PlayStation 5 Pro offers a significant upgrade over its predecessor, with three major enhancements, such as the larger GPU, advanced Ray Tracing, and AI-Driven Upscaling.

The new console from Sony provides the option for higher framerates and higher quality graphics with smooth and stable 60FPS.

Upgraded on three axes

Upgraded GPU
With the PS5 Pro, we upgrade to a GPU that features 67% more Compute Units than the current PS5 console and 28% faster memory. Overall, this allows for up to 45% faster gameplay performance, making the experience much smoother.

Advanced Ray Tracing
Even more powerful Ray Tracing has been added, providing more dynamic reflection and refraction of light. This allows rays to be cast at double, and sometimes triple the speed of the current PS5 console.

AI-Driven Upscaling
PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution is an AI-powered upgrade that uses machine learning technology to deliver ultra-sharp images by adding exceptional detail.

PS5 Pro Game Boost

Other improvements include the PS5 Pro Game Boost, which can be applied to more than 8,500 backward-compatible PS4 games that can be played on the PS5 Pro.

This feature can stabilize or improve the performance of supported PS4 and PS5 games. Enhanced image quality for PS4 games is also available to improve resolution in selected PS4 games.

Wi-Fi 7, VRR and 8K

Upgraded Internet connectivity

The PS5 Pro features the latest wireless technology, Wi-Fi 7, in regions where this standard is supported. VRR and 8K gaming are also supported.

It offers enhanced wireless Internet capabilities with more usable bandwidth for increased transfer speeds with IEEE 802.11be and your compatible router, meaning you can enjoy reduced latency and improved stability when gaming online.

PS5 Pro Enhanced

Many games will be fixed with free software updates so that gamers can benefit from the capabilities of the PS5 Pro. These games can be identified with the PS5 Pro Enhanced label.

Some of the games included in the list are blockbuster hits from PlayStation Studios and third-party partners, such as Alan Wake 2, Assassin's Creed: Shadows, Demon's Souls, Dragon's Dogma 2, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Gran Turismo 7, Hogwarts Legacy, Horizon Forbidden West, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, The Crew Motorfest, The First Descendant, The Last of Us Part II Remastered and many more.

Compatibility

The PS5 Pro fits perfectly into the PS5 family and is compatible with PS5 accessories such as the PlayStation VR2, PlayStation Portal, DualSense Edge, Access controller, Pulse Elite, and Pulse Explore. The user interface and network services will also remain the same as the PS5.

PlayStation® Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR)

Enjoy exceptionally sharp images on your 4K TV, with enhanced AI resolution for ultra-high-definition playback with stunning detail.*

Optimized Console Performance

Achieve higher and more consistent frame rates for perfectly smooth gameplay, with support for 60Hz and 120Hz displays.

Advanced Ray Tracing

Experience new levels of realism with high-quality reflections, shadows, and overall lighting as you explore stunning game worlds.

Play at 60fps or up to 120fps, with 4K output and ray tracing for compatible games

With the power of the PS5 Pro console, you can play compatible games at 60fps or up to 120fps, with ray tracing and enhanced AI 4K resolution using PSSR—all at the same time—on your 4K TV.

2TB Storage Space

  • Always have your favorite games ready, with the built-in 2TB SSD storage.

PS5 Pro Console Game Boost and Backward Compatibility

  • The PS5® Pro console can play over 8,500 PS4® titles. With the Game Boost feature for the PS5 Pro, you can play some of the most legendary PS4 and PS5 console titles with faster and smoother frame rates.

Immersive features of the PS5 console

Everything that makes the PS5 the best place to play, enhanced by the power of the PS5 Pro.

DualSense Wireless Controller

Harness the power of the PS5 Pro with the incredible haptic features of the revolutionary DualSense wireless controller.

Haptic feedback

Experience “Haptic Feedback” technology with the DualSense wireless controller in selected PS5 games, and feel the impact of every action in the game with dynamic responses you can actually sense.

Adaptive triggers

Get familiar with the immersive adaptive triggers, featuring dynamic levels of response that simulate the physical impact of in-game activities in selected PS5 titles.

Spectacular images at the speed of light

Ultra-high-speed SSD

Save time on game loading with near-instant load times for installed PS5 games.

Integrated I/O system

Every component of the PS5 Pro console communicates with the others through a specially designed system that allows game creators to pull data from the SSD at lightning-fast speeds. This opens up new, unprecedented possibilities in game design.

Vivid colors and sharp 4K graphics

Intricate details come to life with a 4K TV and compatible PS5 games. If you have an HDR technology TV, PS5 games that support it impress with incredibly vibrant and realistic colors.

Includes:

  • 2TB SSD
  • Wireless DualSense controller
  • Pre-installed Astro's Playroom

*The PS5 Pro is available without a disc, with the option to purchase the available Disc Drive for the PS5 separately.

I don't have the regular PS5 to compare it with the Pro, but the graphics are incredible as long as you have the right TV

The truth is that to see the difference, especially in some games, to see the big difference, the main thing is to have the right TV so it can fully deliver the capabilities of the console and you can see the differences!!!!!!!

Don't listen to what they say. In most games, there's a big difference compared to the regular one. I was skeptical but in the end, it's really worth it. And a major new upgrade is expected by March 2026 in graphics, fps, and ray tracing

This is the first PlayStation I have bought so I don't have any experience with the regular PS5 and I won't comment on its price since I bought it for under 600 euros. (Black Friday + 15% cashback).

First of all, I have a 2024 OLED TV with 144hz. The experience so far is fantastic, I see locked 60 or 120 fps in 4K depending on the settings, the console is silent and the loading times are very fast (which makes sense due to the SSD).

As for the pro enhanced games, personally I can't tell the difference since I haven't played them on their regular version. The only sure thing is that the graphics (shadows, reflections) are incredible

Most games are not upgraded. On the once that are, the difference is minuscule if you’re not a pixel peeper.

It also follows the same issues the standard PS5 has, Sony won’t release games anymore. 80% of the games that interest me are PS4 games or remasters, that’s sad.

    Price is off the roof!
PS4 Pro was less than half the price and double the step forward power-wise.

Also I can’t say I agree with mid-generation upgrades, specially now that the upgrades are so incremental.

I saw a big difference in the picture and gameplay. In Elden Ring, for example, much more stable FPS and a clearer picture, shadows, colors, more distinct... on a 50-inch TCL 120hz TV. The only negative is its price...

The only reason to buy it is if you don't own a PS5 console, its price is very expensive and not justified without the disk drive, very poor pricing policy from Sony's side which shows that it does not respect its customers.

It took what the base PS5 did and took it to the next level! You may need to purchase an additional Disc Drive to play your CDs, but it's worth it! The stand is NOT needed for it to stand upright!

Very good console, I highly recommend it. If you have the regular PS5 and you don't have a decent TV or monitor that is at least 120hz, then it's not worth buying. Otherwise, get it without a second thought. I give it 3 stars purely because of the price and the fact that the disk drive is extra. I think that for a console it is very expensive and not affordable for everyone.

Only if you know what hdmi2.1, hdcp2.3 3840x2160 120hz are, and you have a TV or monitor that supports the above, and you play games that are on the pro enhanced list, then yes, it’s worth it! Most games that used to run at 60fps with reduced graphics or 30 with good graphics now run at 60 locked, with most ranging from 80-90 and some even locking at 120 with maximum graphics! 5 months later, I can say that it is also quieter than the regular ps5; for similar performance on PC, a graphics card alone costs €1000… ADDITIONALLY, consider the storage space in the price, which is 1.9TB!!! in contrast to the old model which was 650GB and the new (slim) at 850GB!!

I'm considering whether to get this one or the simple version due to the price, of course... Besides the double storage space, it has something that no one mentions and is very important for online gaming with the right future equipment... router... the wifi 7 that it has and the simple ps5 doesn't

As a console, it is truly the best you can get at this moment. I give it 1 star due to the outrageous price. The PSSR is very promising and the improvement it makes to PS4 games with a simple setting is fantastic. The best console, yes, but the price really ruins it. You only buy it if you have money to burn and want the best on the market.

I won't talk about the disc drive or the stand.
I sold the PS5 with the intention of getting the Pro.
I didn't even bother to download games to see a difference or to compare.
The Horizon Forbidden West that I'm playing is a bit clearer, that's the only thing I noticed.
Dragons Dogma has much better framerates.
For me, it's not worth it for now.
Maybe next year we'll see better results

I'm considering whether to get this one or the simple version due to the price, of course... Besides the double storage space, it has something that no one mentions and is very important for online gaming with the right future equipment... router... the wifi 7 that it has and the simple ps5 doesn't

I don't know what others say, but it's definitely worth it!!!!! The difference from the regular PS5 I had is obvious!!!! Much faster, much nicer graphics, completely silent!!!! If you're thinking about buying it, go for it and don't listen to anyone!! IT'S WORTH IT

Respectable upgrade in specs but also double the storage compared to the PS5.

The best gaming console ever. Not for 800.

Fair price up to 650 I would say.

If it lasts over time, I will give it the remaining stars. If it expires, I will take them back.

  • I don't have the regular PS5 to compare it with the Pro, but the graphics are incredible as long as you have the right TV

  • The truth is that to see the difference, especially in some games, to see the big difference, the main thing is to have the right TV so it can fully deliver the capabilities of the console and you can see the differences!!!!!!!

  • Don't listen to what they say. In most games, there's a big difference compared to the regular one. I was skeptical but in the end, it's really worth it. And a major new upgrade is expected by March 2026 in graphics, fps, and ray tracing

  • This is the first PlayStation I have bought so I don't have any experience with the regular PS5 and I won't comment on its price since I bought it for under 600 euros.
