Brushless Motor

The advantage that brushless motors have over brushed ones is that they do not have friction since there are no carbon brushes. Without carbon brushes, the motors are more efficient and have a longer lifespan as there is no wear and tear (the carbon brushes in brushed motors wear out with use). They produce less noise, maintain their torque consistently at all speeds, do not overheat, and require no maintenance.

The product cuts incredibly well and large diameter wood, the only drawback is that the chain does not tighten, as if some part is missing, and both batteries are needed for it to work, which by the way last quite a long time

After quite heavy use on olive tree trunks, it proved to be incredibly reliable and powerful. It doesn't tire you out, because its weight is evenly distributed. It lasts about 1 hour of operation for cutting thick branches-small trunks. Maybe a second set of batteries, ideally larger than 4Ah, would give you great autonomy.

Attention: it needs both batteries to work.

Overall excellent, with only two small details that need attention:
    1. The chain tensioning system is a bit sensitive and needs gentle handling.
    2. As a previous reviewer mentioned, the oil tank cap does not seal properly, and there is a very small leak. So, since I'm not sure if it's lubricated adequately, I add a little extra oil at regular intervals.
Important information from a previous comment, which was also confirmed by the store where I bought it: its batteries should also fit the Nakayama Pro EC4611X44 brush cutter. I have not confirmed this in practice.

I will evaluate this particular chainsaw by comparing it with two other chainsaws in the same category, the Total 40V and the Parkside PPKSA 40V, all brand new, all with a 40cm bar, all with 4V batteries, and all on the same chassis. So, regarding cutting performance, they all cut very well and easily, with the Cresman coming first by a small margin. As for battery life, the Parkside comes last, as its four batteries drain very quickly after a few cuts, then the Total, with the Cresman also winning in this category, as its battery life is pleasantly surprising. Finally, one of the biggest advantages of the Cresman is its size, balance, and weight, which make it by far the most user-friendly and effortless of the three. Its only drawback in my opinion is the cap on the oil tank, which leaks oil if one is not careful or if an extra gasket is not added, and it is a shame that in one of the top chainsaws in its category (if not the top, especially considering the price), its manufacturers have not managed to solve such a simple problem. That’s why four stars. Finally, its batteries are compatible with those of Nakayama (EC series), so if someone also has, for example, the Nakayama EC1520 (which I will also review at some point) with the five batteries, they make a very good set of large and small chainsaws. Lastly, I would like to add that because the other two use a thinner chain than the Cresman, their chain needs sharpening and lowering the depth gauges more often, otherwise they won’t cut even a "napkin," unlike the thicker chain of the Cresman, which lasts longer.

  • It passed all the necessary tests and I can say that I was very satisfied with my purchase. I also bought an extra blade and chain and from what I saw, there are plenty of spare parts available.
