Description

The King diving watch by CressiSub is one of the most reliable and advanced watches for divers seeking absolute control and safety underwater. With high accuracy and advanced features, the King is ideal for free diving and sport diving with a tank.

Equipped with a large, easily readable digital display, the King offers depth measurement, dive time, water temperature, and multiple alarm functions for maximum safety. Its robust construction makes it shock-resistant, while its waterproof capability reaches depths of up to 150 meters.

With an ergonomic and stylish design, the King watch combines functionality and style, while offering great comfort during use with its specially designed silicone strap. It also features screen illumination that allows easy reading in dark conditions, making it ideal for all types of diving.

The CressiSub King is the reliable choice for those who want to enjoy the underwater experience with safety and confidence.

Premium Construction Materials and Durability with Sapphire Crystal

The Cressi King is designed to withstand the toughest conditions of the underwater world. It features sapphire glass, which offers top resistance to scratches and impacts, keeping the display crystal clear. Its sturdy case is framed by a stainless steel bezel and durable metal buttons, ensuring maximum waterproofness and durability at great depths, while its compact size makes it ideal for everyday use.

High-Contrast Display and Intuitive Navigation Menu

Reading data underwater becomes a breeze thanks to the high-contrast display. The digits are large and bold, allowing the diver to see at a glance the depth, time, and decompression limits. The smart navigation menu allows easy switching of settings and functions, ensuring that operation remains simple and fast, even when using thick diving gloves.

Advanced Cressi RGBM Algorithm for Scuba and Nitrox

At the heart of the Cressi King beats the advanced Cressi RGBM algorithm, developed in collaboration with Bruce Wienke. This algorithm ensures maximum safety by accurately calculating decompression levels in successive dives. It fully supports the use of air and Nitrox (up to 99% O2), giving the user the ability to precisely adjust the dive parameters and safety stops.

Specialized Freediving & Apnea Program

For lovers of free diving and underwater fishing, the King incorporates a specialized Free Diving program. This mode provides immediate information on all critical apnea parameters, such as the current and maximum depth, dive time, as well as the surface recovery time (Surface Time). Customizable sound alerts help the diver stay safe on every dive.

Digital Logbook and Bluetooth Connection for Data Analysis

With an exceptionally rich built-in dive logbook, the watch stores detailed statistics for Scuba dives and freediving sessions. Thanks to the Bluetooth connectivity (using an optional interface), you can easily transfer all your data to your smartphone or computer via the Cressi App, creating a complete digital archive of your underwater experiences.

This review is about the colour: Black

It is a good diving watch, easy to read due to the large numbers, with a crystal display and good build quality. Essentially, it is a Nepto (by CressiSub) in a heavy-duty version, as it has the exact same menu, but comes with a metal bezel, better buttons, a softer strap, a removable silicone screen protector (which also functions as a magnifying lens for the display), and a well-designed storage case (which justifies the increased price of €55 that the customer is required to pay). I preferred this expensive version because I have been disappointed by a similar watch from another company that did not have such good build quality. The watch only has two buttons, which means it requires some familiarity, as certain functions are activated with a simple press of the button while others require a prolonged press. Once you learn how to operate it, you will see that it generally has an easy menu. The packaging only includes a quick guide leaflet, so you need to visit the company's website to download the full manual for free.

The company provides spare parts such as a silicone cover, strap, battery & o-ring, and it is recommended to have the battery changed there, along with the waterproof test. There is also a special kit available for connecting the watch to a PC, allowing you to download your dive data, at an additional cost of around €100. The battery theoretically lasts for two years, but there is a special button that deactivates the watch to prevent battery consumption when you are not wearing it.

In terms of use, as soon as you dive below 80 centimeters, it automatically starts recording (sometimes it requires activation on the first dive, but then it works automatically). It displays depth, temperature, dive/ascent speed, number of daily dives, and a total of 99 dives in the logbook. However, it keeps the last dive for one hour and then returns to watch mode (which, in my opinion, is a flaw). It then measures surface time for 24 hours in Do Not Fly mode, even if you have only dived once at a depth of two meters! I don't understand the logic behind this decision by the company; it is completely illogical! Imagine doing simple snorkeling, then going to board a plane and the watch causing a problem!

Another issue that concerns me is that it does not allow you to use the stopwatch/countdown timer/alarm/second time while diving. Why? Don't you have the right to measure, for example, how long you spend spearfishing? It's absurd! And of course, the temperature is only for the water, you don't have the right to see the temperature of the surrounding environment outside the water...

Conclusion: Use it only for water activities and then deactivate it to save battery. It is not suitable for everyday wear as it is heavy on the wrist, and there are better options available in the market. Personally, if I had known about these drawbacks, I would not have purchased it, as a dive computer can do much more.
