The Italeri CR.32 “Chirri” is a 1:72 scale metal model of the Italian Fiat CR.32 fighter biplane. The real aircraft first flew in April 1933 and entered service a year later. It was powered by a 600 HP Fiat A30 RA-bis V12 engine and was the Regia Aeronautica’s most widely used fighter from 1934 to 1939.
The CR.32 distinguished itself in the Spanish Civil War, where it was one of the main aircraft used by General Franco’s forces. It was also flown by Joaquin Garcia Morato y Castano, who was credited with up to 36 aerial victories. The aircraft was also exported to Austria, China, Paraguay and Hungary.
