Myriophyllum pinnatum is native to lakes and marshes in the eastern part of North America. Known also as Myriophyllum scabratum and M. hippuroides, it has been a typical aquarium plant for many years.
Its long, moderately branched stems are reddish and very dense with fine feathery, medium green leaves. Myriophyllum pinnatum is not very demanding; however, it is recommended to have at least moderate lighting and lower temperatures up to 25 degrees.
According to its temperate to subtropical origin, it is also suitable for cold water aquariums.
