    I bought it 3 years ago when we removed the crib rail and, due to its length, it left enough space for the child to climb up by themselves. I had it permanently open, but when we grew up enough and learned to open and close it, the mechanism broke. It's not for heavy use. Nevertheless, it lasted me 3 years! For installation, I used zip ties and tied it tightly to the wood under the mattress.
    *Over time, holes appear in the mesh but it remains functional and safe
