Designed by Black employees in the creative department and their friends from across Apple to celebrate and acknowledge the history and culture of Black people, the Black Unity Sport Band is inspired by the colors of the Pan-African flag and pays tribute to the rich tradition and art of quilt-making. Three distinct pieces of colored fluoroelastomer are hand-assembled and compressed together using the compression molding technique. They are perfectly complemented by the dynamic Unity watch face, which displays a constantly changing pattern of irregular shapes as the Apple Watch moves, and these colors are combined in a unique tapestry. The innovative closure, which hides the pin, is laser-engraved with the words "Truth. Power. Solidarity."
