The Axagon USB 2.0 USB-A male to USB-B male cable connects a computer to a printer, scanner, plotter, or other USB-B device. Its active circuitry retransmits and boosts the signal, allowing devices to be connected over a greater distance than with a passive cable. It supports data transfer speeds of 480, 12, and 1.5 Mbit/s, Plug and Play, and Hot Plug.

It is powered via the USB bus and features a socket for optional external power at 5 V and 1–2 A, for devices with higher power consumption. The shielded cable reduces unwanted interference, and the active section includes two LED indicators for power and device connection. It is compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1, and can be used with a standard passive USB cable for further extension.
