Abicin 30% lacquer with Norway spruce resin is intended for the treatment of fungal infections of the fingernails and toenails, as well as paronychia. It is applied externally and can be used alongside oral antifungal treatment, if prescribed. Treatment for a fungal infection lasts 5–8 months, or until the damaged nail has been replaced by a new, healthy one.
Before the first application, file the nail surface and wash the area. Apply the lacquer to a clean, dry nail, covering the affected area, beneath the nail edge and the surrounding skin. Allow it to dry for 10–12 minutes and apply twice a week. Remove the old layer at least once a month with acetone or by filing. If using cosmetic nail polish, remove it before applying the lacquer. For paronychia, apply once a day for about two weeks, and until the infection has healed.
