Nocturne is a strategy game that combines programming and set collection, with a theme of secrets and magical elements, in a fairy-tale forest under the moonlight, illustrated by Beth Sobel!
Players take on the role of secrets, trying to collect a variety of magical items. You compete against other secrets, deciding when to use your most powerful spells to move through the forest and secure the best collection.
In each round, players choose which items are most valuable to them and when to limit their opponents. Through two rounds (darkness and moonlight), players compete to gather the most powerful sets of magical items such as firebird feathers, creature skulls, luminous mushrooms, secret eggs, and rare herbs.
These items have value when collected in specific sets, but they can also be combined to fulfill recipes required for concoctions, offering even more prestige!
Each round begins with a set of numbered tokens representing the strength of your spells. These tokens are used to recognize your powers and participate in auctions.
