Then, there is the inner jacket filled with responsibly sourced 550 down. Wear them together for protection against wind, rain, snow, and cold - basically all types of winter mountain weather. For when it's mild but wet, use the GORE-TEX® shell by itself. When it's cool but dry, prefer the inner jacket with down. You get two jackets for three different climate conditions without compromising on breathability.
