This guide focuses on the architecture of Athens during the last 200 years. It is based on the album "Athens, two hundred years - two hundred buildings" curated by Manolis Anastasaki, to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution of 1821.

The reconstruction of the city began in 1830 and the first urban planning scheme was approved in 1833, revised in 1834. From 1830 to 1834, Athens is essentially a new city with a new identity and urban design.
