It’s basically like joining two desks together. Even with light monitors, a monitor arm exerts great pressure and torque on a very small area of a desk and, in the long run, can damage the wood. I have a 2.5 cm desk and I got a 12x15 piece of the same thickness, and that’s where the monitor arm is clamped. It is ROCK SOLID. And of course 100% safe for the desk’s melamine.
