The SSL 2 MKII is equipped with two high-performance microphone preamps designed by SSL. Providing a massive gain range of 64 dB and an exceptional dynamic range of 116.5 dB, the microphone preamps sound amazing, with all the detail and power you would expect from the world's leading mixing console manufacturer. The design uses a blend of specially selected low-noise discrete transistors combined with ICs to deliver performance far beyond what is typically associated with a portable sound card powered by a computer's bus. The ultra-low noise preamps of the SSL 2 MKII are capable of getting the best out of any microphone. Both channels are equipped with independent High Pass Filter switches to remove low-frequency noise, and for condenser microphones, they feature a +48V phantom power switch, so you can record with different types of microphones simultaneously.

The XLR combo inputs found on the SSL 2 MKII also function as line-level inputs, designed to capture keyboards, synthesizers, samplers, drum machines, or external audio processors such as EQs and compressors. With a massive dynamic range of 117 dB and a maximum input level of +24 dBu, the line-level inputs of the SSL 2 MKII are compatible with all professional equipment.

At the back of the SSL 2 MKII are the balanced Left/Right outputs for connecting your studio monitors. With professional quality monitor outputs, the SSL 2 MKII offers a dynamic range of 120 dB, allowing you to hear every detail in your productions—from the most subtle riff to the deepest bass line.

The SSL 2 MKII features dual headphone outputs conveniently located on the front panel. These redesigned outputs (with high-current NJM headphone amplifier) are capable of driving any type of headphones, from small in-ear monitors to large diaphragm models.
