Neil "Razor" Ruddock narrates the inspirational and uplifting story of how he faced the toughest battle of his life: to become a different person. In this inspiring and uplifting memoir, Neil Ruddock describes his toxic path to self-destruction, a road filled with food addiction, low self-esteem, and a dangerous relationship with alcohol that led him to the brink of death.
“Razor” was the caricature of the larger-than-life tough footballer, a persona that turned from a natural extension of Ruddock's character into a warm blanket that covered every mood, every feeling. When the door was locked, the laughter stopped. He was depressed and desperate. Football had institutionalized him. Talking about his inner feelings was not an option, and admitting to mental health problems was an absolute taboo.
