Description

The Beastmaster 14000 is Shimano's mid-to-long-range reel aimed at anglers who want to take carp fishing or surfcasting to the next level, with a smaller budget. It includes features taken directly from Shimano's more expensive models, such as Super Slow 5 oscillation, Parallel Body, G Free Body, and AR-C spool. During use, you will appreciate the smoothness and power of the HAGANE Gear, while the 4.3:1 gear ratio, which retrieves 103 cm of line per handle turn, ensures that the Beastmaster is as good at fast retrieval as it is at casting. With a minimal turn of the Instant Drag brakes, you can quickly change the brake settings.

The Shimano Beastmaster XC 14000 is a reel that truly lives up to its name. From the first contact, you realize that it is a robust tool, designed for demanding conditions and great depths. Shimano has done an excellent job combining power, smooth operation, and reliability.

    Performance & Power
The reel performs impressively in heavy casting and surf casting, offering great retrieval power and stability even when working with heavy sinkers or large catches. Its drag is progressive, strong, and fully controllable, which inspires confidence in every fight.

    Smooth Operation
The rotation is silky, without vibrations, even under pressure. Shimano has incorporated technologies that reduce friction and increase durability, making the fishing experience more comfortable and efficient.

    Durability & Construction
Its construction is sturdy, with materials that withstand wear and corrosion from salt—something essential for those who often fish on beaches. The reel shows that it can withstand years of use without problems.

    Casting & Distance
Its spool helps achieve extremely long and accurate casts, which makes a difference in surf casting. The performance at long distances is truly impressive.

    Conclusion
The Shimano Beastmaster XC 14000 is a top choice for those who want a reliable, powerful, and efficient reel for heavy casting and surf casting. It offers excellent value for money and is ideal for anglers who want to upgrade their equipment.

I hadn't tried the XB10000 (older model), but this one is a "beast." It's not far from the truth to say that the strength needed to bring just its sinker to shore is almost the same as what's needed to bring in a 1.5kg sea bass... It doesn't flinch. I didn't choose the XB10000 because it was a much older model and would probably be replaced. Of course, the XC14000 has the disadvantage that it needs 350m of 0.40mm line (as if I were fishing in the Atlantic)... In about 6 months I'll "reverse" the line and the initial fill will last at least a year. I'd describe its weight as normal for serious surfcasting. As for its quality, it shows in every detail. It's no coincidence that the only "reels" I have that survive and work properly after 7-10 years of use are only the Shimanos...
update 200725: A 3+ kg sea bass bent the tip of the rod (Colmic 250 action) from 4.30m to 1.80m for over 10'' and the reel didn't make a sound. Brakes fully tightened, it didn't give any line (0.40)... Awesome!
