A bit of history about the oldest cologne in the world that still exists today.
In the 17th century, it was created by Johann Maria Farina, but it went into production much later in 1792 when a merchant bought the recipe from a monk.
As a scent, it is fresh, lemony, timeless, and naturally the most classic there is. By today's standards, I don't consider it a complex fragrance, but it always manages to lift your mood and for me, it's a "morning" scent.
It can be worn by everyone. Five stars because even though its longevity is not great, it leaves notes of freshness.

Much is said about its longevity, as it is a cologne and not a perfume, but for the trained nose, after about half an hour the top notes (mainly citrus) weaken and the middle and base notes emerge very discreetly.

It reminds me of "Myrto" from our childhood, with a lemon scent. However, since it is a cologne, it doesn't last long.

Average budget fragrance, but I wouldn't recommend it for ages under 40 (it has an old school scent). I bought it for the fruit notes, but they are unfortunately not noticeable at all.

Wonderful cologne for the summer, the ultimate feeling of cleanliness and freshness, unfortunately it lasts very little and I can't understand why this specific company hasn't made any effort to increase the duration of the scent or at least release it in Eau de Parfum

I grew up in Germany and there I discovered 4711. There is always one at home after 40 years. The oldest cologne in the world with many stories about its creation (1709??) and production. It is a unisex soft and refreshing lemon scent suitable for everyone and for all seasons. The only objection is its short duration and its "simplicity" nowadays. Its own SIR Irish Moss has a more masculine scent.

It doesn't differ much from the Myrto with lemon scent. I remember it from an advertisement when I was a child in the early 80s and I wanted to get it to try it.

I was born and raised in Cologne, Germany. The first cologne I ever knew was 4711, and I wouldn't change it for anything. It has a wonderful refreshing scent, with notes of lemon, orange, and bergamot. 4711 is also known as Original Eau de Cologne. The price is very good, and I always buy the 800 and 400 ml sizes because it's worth it. It changes your mood! Get the 100 ml size for your bag too.

Wonderful lemony refreshing summer cologne. It's a shame that it doesn't last, it fades away within half an hour. Thankfully, it's very affordable.

Some recipes are recognized and remain recognized since they hit the market. Just like with 4711 cologne, you never lose that certainty of perfection.

For the money, it's OK. It is a decent fruity-fresh-floral fragrance for non-formal, everyday occasions.
