Description

The dogma divides, but doubt unites. I began my journey in journalism at the age of nineteen, when, although I was a student at ASOEE, I was accepted at "Ethnos". How that happened is an exciting story that I hope to write someday. However, I had already published, along with my classmates, a newspaper as a student at the 11th mixed High School of Peristeri, called "Student Echo". In fact, shortly before I graduated from high school, I was also the editor-in-chief of a weekly local newspaper, "To Peristeri".

In April 1976, I became the director of "Eleftherotypia" and in 1987, I also took over "Sunday E" until 2007. These 31 years are what I attempt to describe in this book, as they were literally unforgettable for me. During my thirty-year tenure at the helm of "E" and "K.E.", I had the opportunity to meet closely and become friends with people of intellect and art.

I met many politicians, but none became a close friend. However, I had the joy of knowing great artists, writers, and poets, such as Antonis Samarakis, Manos Hatzidakis, Mikis Theodorakis, Michalis Kakogiannis, Pantelis Voulgaris, Iakovos Kampanellis, Costa Gavras, Costa Tsoklis, Tito Patrikios, Reno Apostolidis, Thanasis Niarchos, Dino Christianopoulos, Dionysis Savvopoulos, Giannis Markopoulos, Stavros Xarchakos, Mimi Plessas, Stamatis Kraounakis, Dimos Moutsis, Loukianos Kilaidonis, Thanos Mikroutsikos, Maria Farantouri, Elli Paspala, Jenny Karezi, Costas Kazakos, Anna Vagena, and even Aliki Vougiouklaki.

Once, I also had the chance to meet the great Elia Kazan. I must not forget a close friend of mine, not only a lyricist but also a poet, Lefteris Papadopoulos. Besides that, we are both AEK fans from birth!
