Bouquet of smoke on the nose... on the palate it is smooth with intense smoky and salty elements along with slight notes of vanilla and maybe lemon for balance. A distinctive drink, it's not the style of whisky I prefer, but it's worth trying.

I have tried about 20 single malts, three of them smoky from the Isle of Islay and Isle of Mull. I find the Laphroaig ten-year-old to be the roughest and best of all, whether smoky or non-smoky. If you like very rough smoke, I recommend it!

Tobacco, ash, iodine, oak, medicinal. I find the intense smokiness in single malt whiskies to be somewhat overwhelming. I like some smoky cheeses, but not all, and of course, many are not smoky. The same goes for whisky. This falls into the "not" category for me. The sensation doesn't suit me, or rather, it doesn't evoke the same landscape feeling as other whiskies from Islay. If you give it to a friend to smell, they will tell you it smells like betadine.
The price is outrageous, just like many malts in recent years. The market has completely gone out of control in this matter.

I tried it for the first time at a shop today without ever having tried a smoky whiskey before, except for the famous grouse smoked, which I wouldn't say is considered smoky. The description says it all. Smoky is my favorite type of whiskey and this might be my absolute favorite. Smoke, peat, peat, smoke, with a lingering taste... eternal. I don't know what they do over there in Islay, but their whiskies are unmatched. The southern neighborhood along with Lagavulin and Ardbeg is simply the Holy Trinity of smokers. Fans, just hurry up.

A friend brought it to me as a birthday gift... The first time you try it, it doesn't leave a good impression due to its unusual taste. But once you get used to it, you won't want to change it and your non-smoked ones will seem tasteless! It's really nice to have it in the home cellar!

One of the best 10 out of 10!! Tobacco with a hint of salt, simply wonderful. It competes with more expensive whiskies and deserves to be voted in the top ten many times. You need to try it if you like tobacco. It's my favorite!

Although I am not a smoker and at the same time, smoking is not my favorite as I prefer milder flavors with fruity, sweet aromas, I can say that this one I enjoyed mildly. It is particularly smoky, without leaving that unpleasant "cigarette" sensation in the aftertaste, which impressed me and helped me consume it easily. Very good whiskey, intense taste of iodine and sea smoke! I have also tried the quarter cask, which is equally good! Out of all the ones I have tried, this one and Ardbeg are my personal favorites!

Along with Lagavulin, Talisker, Ardbeg, and other lesser-known bottles, all from the Islay region of Scotland, they belong to the category of "smoky" whiskies. This particular one is one of the most famous, it has a strong/smoky flavor, iodine, salt, and is for those accustomed to the category, so those who have not tried it, be prepared that it may not be to your taste. I believe that it is unjustly rated low, as the uniqueness of the category does not suit everyone. Try the slightly more expensive Quarter Cask, it is clearly more interesting.
