The Days of Wonder Ticket to Ride: Nederland expansion adds a new map and rules for playing with Ticket to Ride or Ticket to Ride: Europe. Players collect train cards and claim routes between cities, aiming to complete their destination tickets. Most routes are double routes, and coins must be paid in tolls to build each route.
On the second track of a double route, tolls are paid to the player who built the first track. When a player cannot pay the toll, they take a loan card, which deducts points at the end of the game and makes them ineligible for the coin bonus. Destination tickets offer high scores, while the coin bonus is calculated according to the coins each player has left.
