The electric lock from the Italian company Viro S.p.A. is used for the automatic locking of swing doors, whether automatic or manual, providing security against tampering or vandalism as well as protection from mechanical stress due to wind pressure on doors that are resistant to air.

The VIRO V06 electric lock is suitable for manual or automatic swing doors. It includes the lock mechanism with its cylinder and a tongue receiver for floor locking for vertical installation. There is also the option for horizontal installation using the corresponding receiver.

The use of an electric lock is recommended when the length of the leaf of an automatic swing gate or garage door exceeds 2.5 meters. Installing an electric lock increases the security of an area with access through a swing gate. Depending on the application, you should acquire a single or double cylinder.

The lock mechanically locks. When the door closes, the tongue of the lock rotates around its pivot and secures itself in the locked position.

Unlocking is activated in two ways:

• With 12 VAC voltage from the automation control panel.
• Using a key, particularly useful in case of a power outage.

The desired operating mode is selected using a special component included in the lock's composition. The two operating modes are:

• The lock unlocks and remains unlocked; the door must be opened and closed to lock it.
• The lock unlocks if the leaf opens simultaneously; to lock, the door must be closed again.

An electric lock is necessary when any of the following apply:

• The mechanism is not non-reversible in both the open and closed positions.
• The leaf is longer than 2.5 m.
• The leaf is exposed to strong winds.
• There is a fear of tampering with the door.
• Increased security is required.
